Welcome to the new school year. The weather has been up and down, but now with the cherry blossoms in bloom, we’re ready to get started. The rooms have a new layout, the boxes have new labels, and everyone is in a new class. Even the students seemed more excited than usual today. I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun.
I hope everyone was able to take some time to enjoy the vacation, even if it was just for a day trip in town. It’s these trips, to the zoo, the aquarium, the museum or even just to the park that will make everlasting memories to be treasured for years to come.
I don’t remember much about my elementary school, or even my junior high school to be honest. I couldn’t tell you the names of my neighbors when I was a child, or even the players on my favorite team, but I can still remember some of the names of the deer my mom let me feed when we went to the safari park. I remember the roller coaster I rode with my father and the lunch I had when my parents took us to the circus. These are memories that will stay with me forever, and I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have them.
So, when you are thinking of something to do this weekend, don’t worry about planning some great journey to an exotic resort, just plan something the whole family can enjoy. Play badminton under the cherry blossoms, say hello to the pandas at the zoo, or watch the sharks swim around in leisurely circles at the local aquarium. Your children will love it and you’ll have something to talk about for years to come.
I hope you have a great weekend and welcome back.
